What we know about your home: nothing.
No account, no analytics, no cookie on this site. Three exceptions exist, all three unrelated to your home, and all three are named below.
Last updated 4 September 2026. Applies to Homeboard for LG webOS version 1.0.0 and to this website.
Your Home Assistant credentials
Homeboard never asks you to type your server address or password on the television. The application has no text field at all. You enter them on your own phone, on a page that talks directly to your own server. Those credentials are not stored by us and do not pass through our servers in readable form. The pairing exchange is encrypted end to end between your phone and your television.
The access token that results is created on the television and stays there, in its local storage. Signing out from Settings erases it.
Your home data
The states of your lights, covers, sensors, cameras and other devices travel directly between your television and your Home Assistant server, on your own network. They never reach our servers. Camera images are refreshed snapshots served by your own server.
The three exceptions
- Pairing. A short lived, single use identifier, so the phone and the television can find each other. It expires within minutes and is linked to no identity.
- Purchase and licence. If you buy Homeboard Pro, our server stores a one way hash of a device identifier so the licence can be restored on that television. We store no name, no email address and no payment details. Payment is handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy. Card details are entered on your phone and reach neither us nor your television.
- Launch counter. The application reports that it started, with a random identifier drawn on first run and kept on the television. It is tied to nothing else: not to your licence, not to your server, not to you. We keep how many times and on how many separate days the application was opened, which version it runs, the country it connects from and the kind of device it runs on. The country is inferred from the connection, without recording your address: it tells us where Homeboard is used, never where anyone is. No address, no content, nothing from your home.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are performance of the contract for the licence record, and legitimate interest for the pairing step and for the launch counter.
This website
It sets no cookie, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. Our host, Cloudflare, processes connection logs for security and availability.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising component.
- No third party analytics, and no tracking across sites or applications.
- No sale or sharing of data with third parties.
- No microphone and no camera on the television.
Demo mode
The built in demo runs entirely on the television, from data bundled inside the application. It needs no network and no account, and nothing about it is transmitted anywhere.
Children
Homeboard is a home control tool and is not directed at children. It asks no one for personal information, children included. The only identifier it sends is the launch counter described above, drawn at random, describing a television rather than a person.
Retention
Pairing identifiers expire within minutes. Licence records are kept for as long as the licence is valid, so it can be restored after a factory reset.
Your rights
We hold no name, no email address and no payment details, so for most requests there is nothing to hand over. Two records do exist and either can be erased on request: the licence record, if you bought Homeboard Pro, and the launch counter. Write to us and we remove them. Erasing the licence record means the purchase can no longer be restored on that television. Erasing the launch counter changes nothing in the application.
Where the GDPR applies you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In France that is the CNIL, www.cnil.fr.
