Terms of Sale and Use

What Homeboard is, what it is not, and what you are entitled to.

Version 1.1, 4 September 2026.

The French version of these terms is the authoritative one. Versions in other languages are provided for convenience. In case of divergence, the French text prevails.

1. Who we are

Homeboard is published by LAVE, a French société à responsabilité limitée with a share capital of 1,000 euros, whose registered office is at 5 rue Louis Willaume, 92270 Bois-Colombes, France, registered with the trade and companies register of Nanterre under number 901 626 242. Contact: support@homeboard.shop.

2. What these terms cover

They govern the use of the Homeboard application for LG webOS televisions, the purchase of the optional Homeboard Pro licence, and the use of this website. Installing or using the application means accepting them.

3. What Homeboard is, and is not

Homeboard is a client for Home Assistant, an open source home automation platform that you install and run yourself. It displays and controls what your own server exposes.

Homeboard is not a home automation service, hosts nothing on your behalf, and cannot control any device without a Home Assistant server that you provide and operate. Home Assistant is developed by a third party over which we have no control.

4. Requirements

An LG television running webOS 3.0 or later, a network connection, and a working Home Assistant server. Meeting these requirements is your responsibility.

5. Price and payment

The application is free and fully functional. No feature is locked.

Homeboard Pro is an optional one time purchase at 4.99 EUR including tax. It removes a periodic reminder and unlocks no feature. Payment is processed by Stripe on a page opened on your own device. No payment data is entered on the television, and none reaches us.

The licence is attached to the television on which it was activated, through a one way hash of a device identifier. It is not transferable between televisions.

6. Right of withdrawal

Homeboard Pro is digital content supplied without a physical medium. Under article L221-28 13 of the French Consumer Code, by completing the purchase you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you thereby lose your fourteen day right of withdrawal once the licence is activated.

If the licence has not been activated, write to us within fourteen days and we will refund it.

7. Legal guarantees

Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content, articles L224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code, and from the guarantee against hidden defects, articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code. These guarantees apply regardless of any commercial warranty and are not affected by these terms.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Homeboard working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. The application depends on your server, your network and your television, none of which we control. Features may change from one version to the next. A licence already acquired is not called into question by those changes.

9. Liability

Homeboard sends commands to your own installation. Do not rely on it for safety critical uses. It is not an alarm system, not a medical device, and not a substitute for a physical means of control. Locks, sirens and similar devices must remain operable without it.

Our liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage, and in any event to the amount actually paid for Homeboard Pro. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or bodily injury, which cannot be excluded by law.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to attempt to circumvent the licence, not to resell the application, and not to use it to gain access to a Home Assistant server that is not yours.

11. Intellectual property

The application, this website and their content remain the property of LAVE. Purchasing Homeboard Pro grants a personal, non exclusive, non transferable right of use, not a transfer of ownership.

Home Assistant is a trademark of its respective owner. LG and webOS are trademarks of LG Electronics. Homeboard is an independent application, not affiliated with or endorsed by either.

12. Personal data

See the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

13. Complaints and mediation

Write to us first at support@homeboard.shop. We answer every message. If no agreement is reached, a consumer may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator: Avenir Conso, 197 boulevard Saint-Germain, 75007 Paris, www.avenir-conso.com.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. This does not deprive a consumer of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which they reside.

15. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. The version applicable to a purchase is the one in force on the day of that purchase. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
