Nine ninety nine for nothing you do not already have.
Homeboard Pro removes a periodic reminder. It unlocks no feature, because no feature is locked. This page explains why we sell it anyway.
The reminder, described exactly
Vague wording here would be a way of hiding something, so here is the mechanism as it is implemented.
- 01Once per launch
It opens sixty seconds after the application starts, and never twice in the same session.
- 02Full screen
It is the Homeboard Pro screen itself, not a discreet banner. Calling it discreet would be untrue.
- 03It closes
A Later button dismisses it and returns you where you were. Nothing is blocked behind it.
- 04It grows more insistent
The Later button is immediate for the first ten times. After that a short wait appears before it can be pressed, ten seconds, then fifteen, then twenty, and never more than thirty.
- 05Never in the demo
And never once Pro is active.
The application has a price. You pay it once, or you pay it in interruptions.
That is the honest framing. Pro adds nothing, it changes the currency. We chose this over the alternative, which would have been to put a light switch behind a paywall. A home automation app that does that is a bad home automation app.
How the purchase works
Payment never happens on the television. A code on screen sends you to a payment page that you open on your phone. No card details are ever entered with the remote, and the application has no text field anywhere.
Payment is handled by Stripe. Once paid, the television activates by itself within a few seconds.
If you reset or reinstall. The licence is attached to the television through a one way hash of a device identifier. Open the Pro screen again and it restores itself. We hold no name, no email address and no payment details.
There is no purchased content list, and no account page. Homeboard has no catalogue, so there would be nothing to list. This is how the product works, not something we forgot to build.
